TALA is excited to announce the launch of a new online Leadership Development Series (LDS). The LDS was created to support new and existing senior living employees as they transition into a supervisory leadership role. The series will build a foundation for employees that do not have previous leadership or management experience and is specific to the senior living industry.
The LDS is structured so that participants can complete the program in their own time. The program is broken into four main modules covering leadership basics, department responsibilities, communication, and connecting with individuals beyond their role. The webinar content will be pre-recorded and accessible via the course website for participants to view at their own pace. At the end of the series, a live Zoom call for Q&A will be scheduled for participants to share real experiences for the group to openly discuss providing open discussion and support.
The LDS program boasts a roster of well-known names in the industry such as James Lee, co-founder and CEO of Bella Groves, a well-regarded speaker, consultant, and coach in the senior living industry. James also produces and hosts the Level Up leadership podcast. Anthony Ormsbee-Hale, Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations at Civitas Senior Living, featured speaker at various senior living conferences, author of an Argentum whitepaper on turnover reduction and co-founder of the Texas Assisted Living Association’s (YPN) Young Professionals Network. Also featured are Regional Director of Operations Samantha Jones, from Legend Senior Living, and DeeAnn Stone, VP of Quality, Policy, and Education at Pegasus Senior Living.
The LDS is a product of TALA’s Workforce Development Committee and TALA's Workforce Development Advisor, Rose Saenz, who meets regularly to discuss labor challenges providers experience and how to create solutions that allow the industry and all its people to shine.
Saenz says “Putting together an LDS program has been a personal passion of mine. Often an outstanding employee will be offered a promotion to a department leader position without full development of leadership skills. Basics such as pitfalls of HR and budget planning are key to success for these individuals. This series supports the internal growth of the individual setting a foundation for success while also providing a flexible and accessible resource for operators.”
The nonmember cost for the program is $125.00 per participant. TALA members and IPs will get a discount on series pricing at $75.00 each. For questions and optional further engagement, TALA will host quarterly live Q&A sessions for all attendees at noon on the second Tuesday of October, January, April, and July. Attend a live scheduled Q&A at your convenience.
