Young Professionals Network

TALA's Young Professionals Network (YPN) engages young leaders in the senior living industry by providing targeted networking, continuing education and service opportunities. The YPN brings multiple events a year across Texas and virtually. Join the YPN LinkedIn group to stay in tune with the latest and get connected with others in the field.

YPN membership is open to those in the sector under 40 and/or with fewer than five years' experience. Membership is free. Questions? Email [email protected].

Started in late 2018, the YPN was gaining ground before being forced to switch to a virtual format for for several years - but persisted and grew. Back to in-person events, the YPN continues to encourage the engagement and career growth of young professionals in Texas Assisted Living. The YPN offers multiple events a year including in-person networking events in Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

In addition, YPN members are welcomed to invitation-only TALAConnect events with the TALA Board and TALA Industry Partners. YPN members have benefitted from unique programs, including a partnership with the NIC Academy. Plus, other learning and connecting opportunities are shared throughout the year. 2026 Event Highlights

The YPN hosted a few meetups at the April 2026 TALA Conference and Industry Expo. It was great meeting everyone who stopped by to say hi and to learn more about the YPN!

2025 Event Highlights

The TALA YPN gathered in Houston, July 24, 2025, at the well-known Kirby Ice House for some industry chat. Hosted by Lexi Zager and Paul Jarvis, the casual happy hour had a great turn-out of locally based #txassistedliving upstarts.

The YPN Board judged the Pitch-Off Contest at TALA's Annual Conference and Industry Expo, held April 2-4 at the Kalahari in Round Rock, Texas. The Pitch-Off Contest offers an opportunity for exhibitors to show off their skills and flair with a two-minute elevator pitch to the entire Industry Expo. Points were awarded for clarity and creativity! Congratulations to 2025 winner Halcyon Home.
