Overview of TALA Educational Offerings
To complete the 24-hour course with TALA, individuals can take an 8-hour Texas Regulations class either through video modules or in-person and the 16-hour Administrative Overview component can be completed through self-study, video modules, or in-person. TALA offers the full course in-person as a three-day course or by taking each component individually. These classes are approved by the State of Texas for Assisted Living Managers or for continuing education credit.
TALA hosts an annual conference in April of each year where attendees can earn continuing education credits. Attendees can network with other senior living professionals and attend our annual trade show to speak with exhibitors who cater to the senior living industry. Conference also offers NAB and Nursing credits.
TALA and James L. West Center for Dementia Care have partnered to bring a one-day virtual dementia course. Join Dementia care experts and earn your required 6 hours of dementia specific continuing education units.
James L West Dementia Center and the Texas Assisted Living Association are partnering on a Dementia Specialist Training program that will launch in 2024. The training will help caregivers in their interactions with residents with dementia and give them an understanding of how caregiving differs when a resident has dementia. It will provide real world techniques and a strong foundation for those who care for residents with dementia. The 12-hour training will be virtual with a live question and answer component taken over the course of four months.
TALA's new Leadership Development Series (LDS) was created to provide a senior-living specific leadership foundation for new and existing senior living employees as they transition into a supervisory leadership role.
