The #2023talaconfandtradeshow began with a packed day of engaging nursing track sessions and a leadership intensive presented by Jonathan Fanning. In the evening, industry partners, provider members, board members, and speakers mingled at the board reception where memories were captured at the photo-booth, hors d’oeuvres and drinks were enjoyed, and a celebrity look-a-like, The Queen of Tejano herself- Selena made an appearance!

Day 2 kicked off with coffee and kolaches followed by a record-breaking attendance at the Opening Keynote: “Building Emotional Intelligence,” presented, again, by the always-popular Jonathan Fanning. It was a packed house at 8:00 AM. If you’ve seen Jonathan speak before then you know why. Our very own Vice President of Public Policy, Carmen Tilton, and TALA’s Legislative Consultant, Jaime Capelo took the baton next with our “Public Policy Update.” This was a highly praised session, so huge shoutout to Carmen and Jaime for an incredibly engaging and informative presentation. The day continued with Nursing, Dementia, and Leadership breakout sessions. We also honored our inspiring TALA Heroes at the Heroes Luncheon and Award Ceremony. Finally, exhibitors and attendees gathered for the Trade Show Kick-Off and Opening Reception where attendees got a first look at the Hollywood themed exhibitor booths. Everyone ate, drank, and made valuable connections. A lucky attendee also won a free 2-night stay at The Kalahari Resort!

Before we knew it, it was the final day of TALA’s 2023 Conference and Trade Show. Early risers enjoyed a yoga session in The Kalahari Event Barn, attendees had a day of Leadership sessions and panels, and the Trade Show opened for the final day. The Trade Show featured an energy-filled pitch-off, chair massages in the Wellness Suite, and tons of giveaways during the raffle drawing. Ty Jones brought it home with our Closing Keynote, “Creating an Environment Full of Stars,” which felt like the perfect ending to an awesome conference.

We hope our attendees, exhibitors, and speakers enjoyed this year’s TALA Conference & Trade Show! This year was definitely one for the books. We know that ultimately what makes our conference so special are the connections and knowledge folks leave with, so as always- we appreciate each and every person who attended this year. Please remember to fill out your post-conference and trade show survey so that TALA can continue to make each year better.
