General and Breakout RFP is now open!

The Texas Assisted Living Association invites leaders, innovators, and subject matter experts to submit ideas for possible inclusion in the agenda of TALACon 2027 at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Texas from April 7-9.

TALA seeks speaker proposals for both general and breakout sessions. Proposals should address the professional development and informational needs of attendees from the senior living industry in the areas of nursing, dementia, managerial leadership, resident life enrichment & health, and senior leadership. Leadership covers all aspects of senior living operations from direct care to marketing to sales.

Breakout sessions are 50 minutes in length (approximately 40 minutes for presentation followed by 10 minutes of Q&A) addressing topics in the following focus areas within the categories outlined above.

Dates &Deadline:

  • Call for proposals opens September 21, 2026
  • Deadline to submit proposals is November 20, 2026, COB
  • Acceptance/denial emails sent by December 17, 2026

Hang Ten with the 2027 Theme

A drumroll please: TALA is excited to announce TALACon’s 2027 theme - High Tides and Good Vibes in Senior Living. Join TALA April 7-9th at the Kalahari as we gather in retro beach style; think woody station wagons, cabana stripes, and a lit-up boardwalk or pier with food, games, and rides. We may throw in a luau for good measure. Texas has a long history as a beach state. Across Texas’ more than 350 miles of coastline, from Galveston to Port Aransas, to South Padre Island and more, Texans have been enjoying shoreline fun for a long time.

Texas even produced a few surfing legends in the very early 1900s and by the mid-1960s, Corpus Christi and Port Aransas had a bustling surfing scene. Believe it or not we even have the Texas Surf Museum in Galveston.

Participants can attend any combination of sessions from the different educational tracks. 

 

Continuing Education Units and NAB Credits

Texas Assisted Living Association is approved to give Continuing Education Units for Long-Term-Care (LTC) employees. All CEUs offered at the conference are NAB approved. Stay tuned for the 2026 Conference Sessions Schedule and detailed information regarding CEU’s offered.

Exhibitor Information

TALA’s tiered exhibitor registration rollout will begin in February. Sustaining members will get two weeks to priority register. Then, booth registration will open to Supporting members for two weeks. If there is still availability, registration will open publicly.

Important note- TALA members, please be sure your member contact is updated to ensure you receive email communication regarding membership renewal in January, and to receive key registration dates and discount codes for Sustaining and Supporting TALA members ahead of booth registration opening. Non-TALA members who wish to be placed on the non-member waitlist to be notified of booth availability after priority member registration ends, please email TALA’s Conference and Events Coordinator, [email protected].  

TALA's Conference and Industry Expo is now TALACon

TALA is excited to re-brand the Annual Conference and Industry Expo as TALACon. The elements that make TALA's annual event notable are the education (the conference), meeting over shared interests (convention), and the relationships between industry friends and acquaintances, both old and new (connection). While TALA is bringing these shared elements together - with lots of alliteration - under a new name, you can expect the same dedication to bringing you compelling information, forums for productive conversations, and entertaining events. We look forward to welcoming you to TALACon!
