TALA’s signature event is the Annual Conference and Industry Expo, typically held each spring. The TALA Conference and Industry Expo brings together professionals from across the state of Texas to learn, network, and grow. The 2024 Conference featured a loaded schedule with industry experts, Nursing, Dementia, and Leadership tracks, Hero awards, an Olympian, and more. Here are a few highlights.
TALA 2024 began at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort with a packed day of engaging nursing track sessions and a leadership intensive presented by a TALA favorite, Ty Jones. In the evening, industry partners, provider members, board members, and speakers mingled at the board reception on the beautiful Courtyard Deck. There was a record turnout at the reception where everyone mingled, had drinks and hors d'oeuvres, and enjoyed a live performance by JD Clark and the Stuck in the Mud band. Thank you to all TALA members, board members, and speakers for joining us for a fantastic evening.
Day 2 kicked off with coffee and breakfast followed by the hilarious Amy Dee’s Opening Keynote which taught us about “Resilience: Awareness, Perspective, Choice.” It was a packed house at 8:00 AM. Our very own Vice President of Public Policy, Carmen Tilton, and TALA’s Legislative Consultant, Jaime Capelo took the baton next with our “Public Policy Update.” This is a highly praised session every year, so huge shoutout to Carmen and Jaime for an incredibly engaging and informative presentation. The day continued with Nursing, Dementia, and Leadership breakout sessions. We also honored our inspiring TALA Heroes at the Heroes Luncheon and Award Ceremony. These TALA Heroes deserved recognition for all they do to serve their residents and community. Finally, exhibitors and attendees gathered for the Industry Expo Kick-Off and Opening Reception where attendees got to see TALA exhibitors’ awesome booths for the first time. Everyone ate, drank, and made valuable connections. Congratulations to QIC Pharmacy for winning Best Booth!
Before we knew it, it was the final day of TALA’s 2024 Conference and Industry Expo. Early risers enjoyed a TALA yoga session, attendees had a day of Leadership sessions and panels, and the Industry Expo opened for the final day. The Expo featured an energy-filled pitch-off, chair massages in the Wellness Suite, and tons of giveaways during the raffle drawing. Congratulations to pitch-off winner Moshe Zeffren from Green Light Energy and special thank you to the other fantastic contestants from Principle Laboratory, Vimient, WiseOx, Insurica, Blackmon Mooring, Ratcliff Recovery Services, WelcomeHome Software, and Sunbound. During the last session of the conference, a lucky attendee won a free 2-night stay at The Kalahari Resort and Johnny Quinn brought it home with our Closing Keynote, “Breaking Through Barriers: Unleash Resilience, Determination and Growth for Unbounded Success,” which felt like the perfect ending to an awesome conference.
TALA hope TALA’s attendees, exhibitors, and speakers enjoyed this year’s TALA Conference & Industry Expo! This year was truly one for the books. We know that ultimately what makes our conference so special are the connections and knowledge folks leave with, so as always- we appreciate each and every person who attended this year.
